Newsletter Week of 3/31

Dear Friend, Re-election

Last year in the Special Election, we built a grassroots movement to bring new energy and fresh ideas to Richmond. But we didn’t do it alone. It was because of the support of people like you that I am able to fight for our shared values every day as your Delegate. With the redistricting process complete, I am running for re-election in the new 12th House District. Check here to see if you’re in the new 12th District. And, if you are able, please consider donating to my campaign to help me get re-elected. With a new district comes new communities to connect with. Every dollar counts and will go directly to support our efforts to reach new voters and get our message out. It has truly been an honor to serve our community and represent your voices these last few months and I hope you will send me back to Richmond to do it again! The link to donate is: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/hollyseibold Thank you for your consideration! Clean Virginia Endorsed! I am excited to once again receive an endorsement from Clean Virginia! I am so thankful for their continued support as we work together for an equitable transition to clean energy that is accessible and affordable for all Virginians.

I have revamped my website! Go to HollySeibold.com for all the latest including updates on my re-election campaign, my newsletter, and access to a number of constituent services.

My Second Bill Has Been Signed Into Law!

HB 2492, which increases access to interpreters in court for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, has been signed into law by Governor Youngkin! ICYMI: End of Session Debrief

In case you missed it, I hosted an End of Session Debrief with Senator Chap Petersen and Vienna Mayor Linda Colbert. If you want to view the full slideshow, click here. Community Updates Korean Community Service Center Banquet I had the honor of attending the 49th Annual Korean Community Service Center Banquet. Through family services, transitional housing, financial assistance, & other much-needed social services, KCSC GW has played an integral role in building a safe and united community.

Save The Trees! This week, my office took a walk on the WO&D trail with constituent Joan of the group Plant Nova Trees. Joan and her team rescue trees by removing invasive non-native vines. Over the last 18 months, they have rescued nearly 8,000 trees! It was eye opening to see first hand the negative impact that invasive species have in our environment and I pledged to Joan to work towards a sustainable solution. You can learn more about the work they do here. I was proud to “speak for the trees” 🌲🌳 last session and will continue the fight next session, as well.

Meeting Community Needs I’ve been participating in the Vienna Non-Profits call since 2020. Local non-profits, religious orgs, schools, PTSAs, service agencies, local groups, and town council have been meeting to address how we can work together to meet the needs of the most vulnerable in our community. This week was my 1st time joining as our elected representative & I shared post-session information. I’ve always been deeply involved in my community - as a nonprofit leader, parent volunteer, educator, & advocate - and value the input of those closest to the need. The work they do is critical.

English Empowerment Center This week I met with the English Empowerment Center (formerly Literacy Council of Northern VA) to learn more about the work they do in the community. Wow- what a service they provide to 1,900 English language learners! Learn more about the work they do here.

Active Shooter Response Training On April 11th at 6:30pm at Green Hedges School, Lt. Commander John Weinstein from NOVA Community College will give a presentation on active shooter response training. As he says, "When SECONDS count, it takes the police MINUTES to arrive. You need to have a plan before it happens." Thank you to my constituent, Tracy McCarty, for organizing this important event. You can RSVP here.

Cherry Blossoms! I’ll be celebrating the cherry blossom season by taking part in the Tysons Community Alliance Pedal with Petals Family Bike Ride event THIS SUNDAY with my family! Hope you can join me! Register here.
