Newsletter Week of 4/7

Dear Friend,

I want to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to all who are celebrating Passover and Easter this weekend. These holidays are a time for reflection, renewal, and joy, and they remind us of the power of faith and community.

For those observing Passover, I wish you a happy and meaningful holiday. May this time of remembrance and liberation inspire you to continue pursuing justice and freedom for all. And may the traditional Passover foods and customs bring you joy and connection with loved ones.

For those celebrating Easter, I wish you a joyful and blessed holiday. May this season of resurrection and renewal inspire you to cherish the gift of life, to embrace hope and optimism, and to share kindness and compassion with those around you. And may the fellowship of family and friends bring you comfort and happiness.

Whether you are celebrating Passover, Easter, or simply enjoying the arrival of spring, I hope this season brings you peace, happiness, and a renewed sense of purpose. Let us all work together to build a brighter future for our families, our communities, and our Commonwealth. Re-election

I am officially the Democratic nominee in the new 12th House District! Check here to see if you’re in the new 12th District. And, if you are able, please consider donating to my campaign to help me get re-elected. With a new district comes new communities to connect with. Every dollar counts and will go directly to support our efforts to reach new voters and get our message out. It has truly been an honor to serve our community and represent your voices these last few months and I hope you will send me back to Richmond to do it again! The link to donate is: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/hollyseibold Thank you for your consideration! Reconvene On April 12th, the General Assembly is reconvening to deal with budget issues and consider bills that the Governor has returned with amendments. I look forward to going back to Richmond next week to get to work on these important issues. Q1 Central Committee Meeting I spent this weekend in Richmond attending the Q1 Central Committee meeting as an 11th Congressional District representative. It was good to see many friends, including our new SENATOR Lamont Bagby, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, Senator Jennifer Boysko, Delegate Charniele Herring and our new CONGRESSWOMAN Jennifer McClellan!

I also loved watching my constituent, Sue Langley, receive the grassroots award and be honored for all her work!

Happy Retirement, Delegate Kory! Congratulations to my good friend, Delegate Kaye Kory, on her retirement! I first met Delegate Kory through my advocacy work on access to menstrual products for women who are incarcerated. Fairfax County was fortunate to have such a strong champion represent us in the House. Her tireless advocacy on behalf of her constituents is part of what inspired me to pursue public office, and I was so honored that she was one of the first elected officials to endorse me. In Richmond, she went above and beyond to help me and my office navigate our 1st session. Thank you again Delegate Kory, for your many years of service to our community and for being a champion of the people. You will be missed!

Thank you to everyone who came out for Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's Vienna! It was great meeting so many awesome constituents with my daughter!

Art Blooms at Mosaic Last weekend, I stopped by Art Blooms at Mosaic. Wow! It was in full bloom for the Cherry Blossom Festival - local vendors, produce, live music, and even the Vienna Singing Princesses! I am really excited that Mosaic will be in my new district starting in January!

Active Shooter Response Training On April 11th at 6:30pm at Green Hedges School, Lt. Commander John Weinstein from NOVA Community College will give a presentation on active shooter response training. As he says, "When SECONDS count, it takes the police MINUTES to arrive. You need to have a plan before it happens." Thank you to my constituent, Tracy McCarty, for organizing this important event. You can RSVP here.

Constituent Meetings My office had the pleasure of attending the Fairfax Families for Safe Streets April meeting to listen to concerns about our streets. There were 44 traffic-related deaths last year in the County, significantly higher than the year before. As your Delegate, I pledge to work with VDOT to make our streets safer. Learn more about them and their mission here. We’ve heard a number of community concerns regarding speeding on Gallows Road & Blake Lane and construction issues around I-66. This week, we had the privilege of joining the Dunn Loring Improvement Association to hear these concerns and share updates from VDOT. Learn more about them here. My office also had a great meeting this week with our constituent Julie on the need to protect opportunity at our state universities, increase funding in higher ed, and protect our kids from gun violence. Please reach out if you’d like to meet with us. We love meeting with constituents!
